Christ thoughts

The Person of Christ
There is a definite universal need for a mediator. There is a general expectation that there will be a deity that overcomes evil. Each kingdom through out history has expected redemption in the manner of an individual person or a king. The gentiles will await the coming of a servant according to Isa. 42:4.
Israel’s Messianic hope- The prophesies about this king were given beforehand to the people of Israel, even before the exodus. The prophecy was to give the peope some rest from the burdens of surrounding nations and the burdens of the law but it is only now after the ressurection that we see how Christ is different from all other persons and kings throughout history.
Messianic expectations always lived in the hearts of the people as they awaited the messiah. Why did the people have such high expectations for this messiah? In apocryphal history we have so many references to this messiah that will come and rescue his people from oppression. The person of Christ has rescued us from oppression to sin not to any form of government.
The present and the coming kingdom
Christ came preaching that the kingdom is near and the time for the fulfillment had come. The name son of man cannot be evidence of the future kingdom, it is a title to show the person of Christ and the events that are fulfilled by him in prophecy. Although research on this term is still under research it is probable that Jesus was refereeing to the passage in Daniel and used it for many specific reasons.
The name is found 9 times in matthew and it refers to the person of Chrsit as the Messiah, the long awaited person who was to come, it also shows a human relation with his people, Israel.
The nature of Christ is most commonly known as the God man, there is a unity between one another, Chrsit is fully God and at the same time fully man.
There have been many herecies that we have discovered in class and we discussed on the test. Why do you suppose good doctrines come from false teachings?
The doctrine of Chrsit is the central point to the whole system of Dogmatics. All other Dogmatics either prepare for it or are inferred from it. It is simply the mystery of Godliness.
It is most important to understand that the divine nature John speaks about actually became a human being. Any teaching that went against this one regarding the person of Christ had been condemned by the church.
The scriptures bear testimony that Jesus Chrsit is the son of God and they attest to the incarnation. The person of Christ is God clothed in human form and flesh.
